  • HONESTY & RESPECT

It is important to honor yoga’s roots as we practice through self-study and explore yoga philosophy, the eight limbs, along with our physical practice of asana (movement) and pranayama (breathwork).

  • CONNECTION & COMMUNITY

Yoga is unity, both within us and in our communities. We aim to create an inclusive space and world through social justice, service, and leaving this world better than we found it.

  • GROWTH & CONSISTENCY

We call yoga a practice because it is never mastered. It’s a daily decision to incorporate it into your life knowing each day has something new in store to teach you.

Let me introduce myself,

Hey, y’all, I’m Laughlin, founder of House of Vidyā. I’m a certified yoga teacher, lover of travel and nature, a military spouse, and a lifelong student of yoga. In 2013 I moved to Savannah by myself to finally finish my bachelor’s degree. I was feeling so out of touch with myself and my body and started having what my doctor would later tell me were panic and anxiety attacks as well as generalized anxiety throughout the day. My doctor, who was from South Asia, suggested I try yoga. And that’s where my love affair with yoga began.

After years of dreaming, I started House of Vidyā because yoga is such a beautiful, complex, ever-evolving practice and I know what it’s like to begin your yoga journey feeling overwhelmed and lost. Yoga is an inclusive practice for anyone interested in enriching their lives - including you. My goal is to show you how yoga can benefit you and those around you by helping you integrate yoga into your daily life mindfully with knowledge and reverence for all the tradition has to offer. I honestly believe knowledge and wisdom are powerful in our yoga practice because it equips us to handle the many phases and changes life throws our way. House of Vidyā strives to introduce you to yoga in a holistic approach that helps you create sustainable, healthy habits that will empower you to achieve your goals, find balance, and experience peace.

I’m so excited to be on this journey together!
